Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy practices, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care. As a key member of the rehabilitation team, you will assist licensed physical therapists in implementing treatment plans, supporting patient recovery, and ensuring compliance with clinical documentation standards. Responsibilities Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs. Operate and maintain medical equipment used in physical therapy treatments, ensuring safety and proper functionality. Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems following clinical documentation standards. Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, caregivers, and patients to facilitate comprehensive care plans. Support patient care activities within our skilled nursing facility. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, injury prevention strategies, and post-discharge care instructions to promote long-term wellness. Experience Prior experience working in inpatient settings such as skilled nursing facilities is highly desirable. Familiarity with clinical assessment documentation and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy practices. Hands-on experience with physical therapy treatment implementation involving manual therapy techniques and physiotherapy modalities. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and the use of medical equipment essential for effective therapy delivery. Experience managing electronic health records (EHR) systems while adhering to clinical documentation standards. Strong communication skills for engaging with clients of diverse backgrounds and coordinating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
