In this vital contract role, you will partner with a district Physical Therapist to help deliver and implement therapy services that make a tangible difference in students' daily learning experiences.
Qualifications and Skills Needed:
Active Tennessee state licensure or eligibility to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). Experience in pediatric or school-based settings is a plus, though dedicated professionals new to the specialty are encouraged to apply. Proven ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with students, school staff, and interdisciplinary teams. Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing documentation with student care. Reliable transportation, with the flexibility to travel between multiple schools within the district.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver physical therapy services under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist, supporting a caseload distributed across several school sites. Implement individualized treatment plans, working toward therapy goals that promote student independence and mobility. Document therapy sessions and maintain records in adherence to school and state protocols. Collaborate closely with supervising therapists, teachers, and special education professionals to ensure seamless care delivery. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute meaningful input regarding student progress and needs. Travel regularly within the district to provide onsite support wherever it's needed most.
