Category Schools - PTA Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to provide essential support across multiple school campuses. This contract position ensures a dynamic environment, working closely with a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver high-impact services to students. The focus is on helping children achieve greater mobility and independence, fostering their ability to participate fully in their school life. With responsibilities at schools throughout the district, adaptability and a collaborative spirit are vital.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Tennessee licensure or eligibility as a Physical Therapist Assistant Previous experience with pediatric or school-based populations is highly desirable, though not required Strong organizational skills and clear communication Demonstrated collaboration abilities, especially in education settings Reliable transportation and readiness to travel among school sites in the district
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver physical therapy services to students as directed and supervised by the district's licensed Physical Therapist Support and help implement individualized student treatment plans and goals Foster functional independence and promote improved mobility for students within the school setting Accurately document therapy sessions and student progress in compliance with school and program guidelines Partner actively with the supervising therapist, teachers, special education teams, and related service providers to coordinate student support Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and related activities as needed Consistently travel between 22 district school sites to meet student needs This role offers a meaningful chance to make a positive difference in student lives while experiencing the diversity of school communities across the district.
