The PTA will assist with therapy treatments, guide patients through therapeutic exercises, administer modalities, and support injured employees in recovering and returning to work safely.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care and administer physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist Guide patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises, activities, and functional training Apply physical therapy modalities (e.g., ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold therapy) as outlined in patient care plans Assist injured employees with rehabilitation programs designed to restore function, improve mobility, and facilitate a safe return to work Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, body mechanics, and injury prevention strategies Maintain accurate, timely patient records and clinical documentation regarding progress and treatments Collaborate closely with physical therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care Adhere to all clinic safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and professional practice standards
Qualifications:
Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in Texas Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program Strong clinical documentation skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate and patient-centered approach to rehabilitation and occupational recovery Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems Prior experience in outpatient rehabilitation or occupational therapy/workers' compensation is a plus FMC Health is a locally-owned healthcare management organization servicing Amarillo, Canyon, and the Texas panhandle.
