Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver exceptional patient care in our skilled nursing facility. Your expertise in physiotherapy techniques and patient-centered care will help improve mobility, reduce pain, and promote recovery for individuals of all ages. Responsibilities Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. Conduct therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy, and use medical equipment safely and effectively. Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately following clinical documentation standards. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and ensure seamless patient care. Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, injury prevention, and post-treatment care to foster independence. Manage electronic health records (EHR) efficiently to maintain up-to-date medical documentation and ensure compliance with privacy regulations. Support discharge planning processes by assessing patient progress and communicating recommendations clearly to the care team. Experience Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, orthopedics, geriatrics and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practice. Hands-on experience with clinical assessment documentation and medical documentation standards. Skilled in the operation of medical equipment used in physiotherapy interventions. Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus. Familiarity with acute care environments enhances your ability to adapt quickly to different patient needs. Proven ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
