Duties Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized care plans for geriatrics. Implement physical therapy treatments such as manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and therapeutic exercises to promote mobility and reduce pain. Operate and maintain medical equipment used during therapy sessions, ensuring safety and proper functionality. Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately following clinical documentation standards and medical terminology guidelines. Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals—including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists—to coordinate patient care strategies. Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers to explain treatment procedures, progress, and home exercise programs. Manage electronic health records (EHR) efficiently to ensure up-to-date medical documentation and compliance with healthcare regulations. Qualifications Valid licensureas a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in outpatient clinics, inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, orthopedics, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practice. Hands-on experience with manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and physiotherapy modalities. Ability to perform clinical assessments accurately and document findings clearly in compliance with clinical documentation standards. Familiarity with medical equipment operation and electronic health records (EHR) management systems. Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients of diverse backgrounds—including pediatrics and geriatrics—and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Prior experience working in acute care or outpatient settings is highly desirable; inpatient or skilled nursing facility experience is a plus.
