Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support physical therapists in delivering high-quality patient care across various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and acute care environments. This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and patients requiring discharge planning. The PTA will play a vital role in implementing treatment plans and assisting patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals through evidence-based techniques such as trigger point therapy and physiotherapy interventions. Responsibilities Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to patient needs. Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities under supervision. Support patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics, in improving mobility, strength, and functional independence. Assist in providing care to patients throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period, including supporting treatment plans focused on strength, mobility, core and pelvic floor function, and recovery following childbirth. Utilize specialized skills such as trigger point therapy and physiology knowledge to enhance treatment effectiveness. Monitor patient progress and document responses to therapy interventions accurately. Educate patients and their families on exercises, activity modifications, and discharge instructions to promote recovery at home or in other settings. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and ensure seamless patient transitions across care environments. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment adhering to healthcare standards and protocols. Requirements Interest in pelvic health, including pregnancy and postpartum care (experience not required; will train the right person). Valid certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program. Familiarity with care plans for orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and discharge planning processes. Strong interest in learning evidence-based pelvic health treatment approaches and supporting patients through pregnancy and postpartum recovery. Compassionate communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds and stages of life.
