Job DescriptionPhysical Therapy Assistant (PTA)Position Summary The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to provide high-quality patient care. The PTA implements treatment plans designed by the PT, assists patients in achieving functional goals, and promotes a positive rehabilitation experience while maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations. Reports To Physical Therapy Manager / Supervising Physical Therapist Employment Status Full-Time or Part-Time Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPatient Care Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist. Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, balance training, gait training, strengthening, stretching, and functional mobility activities. Utilize therapeutic modalities as directed, including heat, ice, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and traction when appropriate. Monitor patient progress and report changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and proper body mechanics. Ensure patient safety throughout all treatments. Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, and use of assistive devices. Documentation Document treatments accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record (EMR). Record objective patient responses, functional progress, and treatment tolerance. Communicate significant findings to the supervising Physical Therapist. Assist with outcome measurements and required documentation for insurance and regulatory compliance. Clinic Operations Prepare treatment areas and equipment before and after patient visits. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the therapy gym. Monitor therapy equipment and report maintenance needs. Assist with inventory of therapy supplies and equipment. Follow infection prevention and safety protocols. Team Collaboration Work collaboratively with Physical Therapists, physicians, occupational therapists, athletic trainers, medical assistants, and administrative staff. Participate in staff meetings and continuing education. Maintain positive professional relationships with patients, families, and coworkers. QualificationsEducation Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Licensure Current Washington State Physical Therapist Assistant License. Current CPR/BLS Certification. Preferred Experience One or more years of outpatient orthopedic experience preferred. Experience with postoperative orthopedic rehabilitation is highly desirable. Knowledge and Skills Strong understanding of orthopedic rehabilitation principles. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to motivate and encourage patients. Knowledge of therapeutic exercise techniques and manual therapy assistance. Ability to prioritize multiple patients efficiently. Strong documentation and computer skills. Familiarity with electronic medical records. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift, transfer, or assist patients up to 50 pounds. Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements. Manual dexterity sufficient to assist with therapeutic interventions.

Pay:

$30.00 - $39.00 per hour
