The Chiropractic Medical Assistant supports chiropractic providers in delivering safe, efficient, compassionate, and patient-centered care. This position is responsible for assisting with patient flow, preparing patients for chiropractic visits, completing clinical support activities, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing excellent customer service. The Chiropractic Medical Assistant works closely with the chiropractic provider and other CHS team members to ensure patients receive coordinated care consistent with CHS policies, procedures, quality standards, and the mission of
CHS. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Welcomes and rooms patients in a professional, respectful, and compassionate manner. Verify patient identity and obtain/update demographic, medication, allergy, and health information as appropriate. Obtain and document vital signs and other clinical information as directed. Review the patient's reason for visit and communicate relevant information to the chiropractic provider. Assist the chiropractor with documentation while provider is completing treatments. Prepare and maintain treatment rooms and clinical equipment. Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment and treatment areas according to CHS infection-control standards. Review charts under direction of provider for next clinic day and obtains/places report results in charts. Makes list of anticipated needs for patient (i.e., health check, lab, vaccine). Reinforce provider instructions without independently diagnosing conditions or providing treatment recommendations outside the employee's scope of practice. Recognize and promptly report changes in a patient's condition, safety concerns, or other clinical concerns to the chiropractic provider. Assist with coordinating referrals, outside records, imaging, and other clinical information as directed. Ensures provider productivity by reviewing schedules throughout the day. Makes room for walk in patients when possible. Maintains patient files, records and other information as required. Maintains required logs for Health Center Grant Compliance. Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested. Maintains patient confidentiality. Performs related work as required. Assists in in-service trainings and orientation of new staff. Participates in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team. Assists with Quality Control measures. Follows all CHS policies, procedures, regulatory and legal requirements. Complete required trainings on time. In basket, referrals and overdue images. Complete MA competency checklist. Education/Licensure/Certification High School Diploma or GED required. Maintains current Chiropractic Assistant Certification through completion of 24 hours of approved education or 2000 hours of hands-on experience under supervision of licensed chiropractor (CHS may be willing to assist in funding with expectation it is completed within 2 weeks of hire). Bi-annual BLS Certification required
