An Orthopedics Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in concert with an orthopedist, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations.

Job Description

Provides direct patient care as ordered and directed by physician, performing diagnostic tests, completing referral authorization and instructing patient/client about treatment status. Maintains organization of clinical areas and restocks inventory as needed. Assists with all clinical/clerical tasks as needed to provide service excellence. Work up of Clinic patients. Maintains and utilizes computerized schedules. Participate in scrubbing of vein ablation procedures. Participate in scrubbing of sclerotherapy. Performs clerical duties to include scanning of patient clinic and hospital reports. Obtain prior authorizations. Manages and maintains meaningful measures. Assists with procedures. High school or equivalent. Higher education preferred. Knowledge of computer applications associated with hospital and physician practice to include word processing and spreadsheets. Prefer medical terminology. BLS Certification.
