Nurse Practitioner (FNP/CRNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) - ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery Decatur ENT Associates, P.C. / Light Facial Plastic Surgery Ben Light, MD, FACS Decatur, Alabama Full-Time Decatur ENT Associates, P.C. / Light Facial Plastic Surgery is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP/CRNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our established ENT and facial plastic surgery practice in Decatur, Alabama. This is a unique, hands-on position combining independent patient care, office-based procedures, hospital consultations, surgical involvement, and close collaboration with our physicians. Because we are a surgical specialty practice, we are looking for a provider with excellent clinical judgment, strong procedural aptitude and manual dexterity, and a genuine interest in hands-on patient care. The successful candidate should be eager to develop a high level of proficiency in ENT procedures, surgical care, and postoperative management. ENT experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to provide specialty training to the right candidate. What You'll Do Evaluate and treat new and established patients with appropriate ENT conditions Obtain thorough histories and perform physical examinations Develop assessments and treatment plans Order and review imaging, laboratory studies, audiologic testing, and other diagnostic evaluations Prescribe medications within applicable scope of practice Manage routine ENT follow-ups and appropriate postoperative visits Provide preoperative and postoperative patient care Review and communicate test and imaging results Educate patients regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, procedures, and follow-up care Recognize when physician evaluation or intervention is necessary Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record Work alongside our physicians during designated clinic sessions to facilitate efficient patient evaluation and treatment Participate in hospital consultations and appropriate hospital-based patient care Screen and triage after-hours patient calls, providing appropriate guidance within scope of practice and involving the on-call physician when physician evaluation or intervention is needed Attend surgical cases with the physician and participate in perioperative care as appropriate to training, credentialing, privileges, and scope of practice Coordinate care between the office, hospital, and surgical setting Work collaboratively with physicians, audiology, clinical staff, hospital staff, and administrative staff Hands-On & Procedural Care This is a procedurally focused position, strong manual dexterity is a must. Candidates should be comfortable working with their hands and interested in developing advanced skills in ENT and surgical patient care. With appropriate training, demonstrated competency, credentialing, and within the provider's scope of practice, the NP or PA will be expected to develop proficiency in: Cerumen removal Skin biopsies Suture removal Wound care Nasal endoscopy Flexible laryngoscopy Evaluation and treatment of epistaxis (nosebleeds) Nasal splint removal Preoperative and postoperative care Assisting with office-based ENT and facial plastic surgery procedures Additional procedures appropriate to the provider's training, competency, privileges, and scope of practice Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and master procedural skills are essential for success in this position.
