Physician Assistant License Full Job Description Overview:

Responsibilities:
Obtain comprehensive and focused patient histories and perform appropriate physical examinations. Evaluate new and established oncology and hematology patients in collaboration with the supervising physician. Develop and implement evidence-based plans of care in collaborating with the attending oncologist. Provide routine follow up care for patients receiving active cancer treatment. Provide surveillance and survivorship visits for appropriate patient populations. Order and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging, and other diagnostic testing within approved scope and privileges. Review pathology, imaging, molecular/genomic testing, and other clinical findings relevant to the patient's cancer diagnosis and treatment. Communicate signficant findings to the attending physician and multidisciplinary care team. Coordinates consultations and referrals to appropriate specialists and supportive services. Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards Regular and prompt attendance Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required Related duties as assigned
Additional Information:
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited physician assistant training program Required PA

  • Licensure with the state of Alabama to practice as a Physician Assistant within 60 Days Required Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Previous experience working in a cancer center as a PA preferred HighPrevious experience working in a cancer center as a PA preferred
