Job Description

Job description Arizona Advanced Surgery (AAS) has an opening for a Physician Assistant (PA) in its Trauma Division. The PA will support the trauma / critical care surgeons who staff the Trauma program at Banner Desert Medical Center (BDMC) and Banner Children's at Desert (BCD). AAS is a large multi-specialty surgery group offering a collaborative environment, competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
BDMC/BCD
is a community hospital with more than 600 licensed beds and is designated by the State of Arizona as a Level I Trauma Center.
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high quality care to patients with acute injuries or emergency general surgical conditions, as well as those requiring critical care
  • Participate in the initial assessment and management of acutely injured adults and children, including writing admission and consultation notes
  • Perform procedures such as wound repair, tube thoracostomies, bronchoscopies, arterial and central line placement, and ultrasound ("FAST") exams.
  • Order medications, therapies, medical imaging and laboratory studies, review and interpret results
  • Function as a first assistant in the operating room
  • Assist with the coordination of care for patients, including collaboration with many different medical specialists
  • Perform daily rounds, both in the ICU and on the ward, and write daily progress notes and prepare discharge summaries
Requirements:
Current Arizona PA licensure Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Prior experience with trauma or critical care is preferred, but not required.

$115,000.00 - $148,000 Depending on
Experience Schedule:
  • 13, 13 hour shifts per month; 6pm-7am
  • Flexible scheduling
