This position offers a supportive, collaborative environment with physician mentorship readily available when needed. Ideal candidates are confident, compassionate, and comfortable managing acute care patients in a fast-paced urgent care settings. Providers are encouraged to practice autonomously while having direct physician support available at all times. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments through physical examinations, vital sign measurements, and detailed medical histories to establish accurate diagnoses. Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, laboratory tests, to inform treatment plans. Accurately document patient encounters using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) such as NexGen (Healthfusion); ensure accurate CPT coding and
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding for billing purposes. Perform common urgent care procedures including suturing, incision and drainage, splinting, foreign body removal, and wound care. Qualifications Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification from the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants). Demonstrated experience in emergency medicine, or urgent care settings.. Proficiency in EMR systems including NexGen or similar platforms; familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy knowledge essential for accurate patient assessment. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols to ensure patient privacy and safety. Ability to perform physical examinations effectively while utilizing aseptic techniques during injections or invasive procedures. Excellent communication skills for patient education.
