for successful entry into Medical School and PA School. Such Internships are extremely rare. This is a great opportunity for Pre-Healthcare college students and
ESPECIALLY
for gap year students (Pre-Med and Pre-PA). We have already hosted many students who wish to pursue a career in practicing Medicine. The experience was mutually excellent and we wish to continue this relationship. In fact, many of our Internship graduates have gone on to Medical School and PA School. You will be assisting the growth of a Primary Care / Addiction Medicine Clinic in Huntington Beach. We manage Opioid Addiction with Suboxone (a very valuable skill to show on any professional school application... especially in the middle of a nationwide epidemic), usually through the use of tele-medicine practices . Must be RESPECTFUL, well-groomed, well-dressed (light blue scrubs), no visible tattoos, no long fingernails, no perfume/cologne scents, friendly, pro-active, enthusiastic to learn, and have
EXCELLENT
verbal communication skills.
Much of the responsibilities include:
making outreach calls (to hospitals) to coordinate opioid dependence treatment, front and back office work, obtaining patient history, presenting patient history to Physician, collecting vital signs, assisting Physician in minor procedures, serving as medical chaperone/witness, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, keeping clinic clean, keeping patient charts organized, getting lunch for Doctor on "Patient Days," etc. Training will be provided by the staff. Minimum 1 year commitment. Minimum 2 Full Days per week (weekend opportunities exist).
Probation time:
