This is a full-time opportunity providing shift-based coverage for trauma and acute care surgery patients in a fast-paced hospital environment. Schedule Full-time position Shift-based Trauma / Acute Care Surgery coverage Combination of weekday, weekend, and holiday coverage based on program needs Exact shift structure and annual shift commitment to be finalized Responsibilities Evaluate and manage trauma and acute care surgery patients in the emergency department and inpatient setting Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and clinical decision-making Participate in daily rounds and manage hospitalized surgical patients Assist surgeons with treatment planning and execution Manage preoperative and postoperative patients Order and interpret laboratory testing and diagnostic studies within scope of practice Perform credentialed bedside procedures within scope of practice Coordinate specialty consultations and multidisciplinary care Assist with discharge planning, patient education, and follow-up Respond to changes in patient condition and communicate with supervising surgeons and hospital teams Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Participate in trauma and acute care surgery quality initiatives Requirements Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program Current or eligible California PA or NP license NCCPA certification for PAs or appropriate national certification for NPs Eligible for hospital credentialing and clinical privileges Trauma, acute care surgery, general surgery, emergency medicine, critical care, or other high-acuity experience preferred Strong clinical judgment and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
Compensation & Benefits Compensation:
