Hoag Health, the top-ranked health system in Orange County, CA is seeking a skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant in Thoracic Surgery to join our growing team! This would be a per diem role providing inpatient coverage at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, CA. Hoag is recognized as Orange County's Highest-Ranked Hospital for Top-Quality Care per US News and World Report (2025-2026). We are seeking dedicated and mission-oriented Physician Assistants dedicated to ensuring the highest levels of patient care. Hoag Hospital - Newport Beach, CA

Team:
Thoracic Surgeons, Cardiac Surgeons, General Surgeons, HPB Surgeons, Surgical Physician Assistants Duties:

Perform Patient rounds, collaboration and communication with providers on service as well as nursing staff to perform patient care, set up follow up for patients upon discharge or post operatively. Collaborate with thoracic surgery team to ensure high-quality care. Assist (if necessary) in performing surgical procedures including pre-operative and post-operative care.

Requirements:

Completion of a Physician Assistant program from an ACGME accredited program in surgery is required

Preferred:

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Thoracic or Cardiac Surgery PA required

Must have or be eligible for California State Physician Assistant licensure

Well versed in the surgical and medical management of thoracic and/or cardiac surgery procedures and conditions

A passion for providing excellent clinical care and excellent communication skills and interest in working in a collaborative / team-oriented environment are a must.

Ability to provide inpatient support on weekends Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Hoag Hospital
