A Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in all areas and specialties of medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations. May serve as the primary healthcare provider, in consultation with a part-time physician, in communities with limited health care resources.
Job Summary Join a dynamic team of Neurosurgeons and advanced practice providers in providing exceptional care to the Coachella Valley community at an exciting Level 1 trauma center in beautiful Palm Springs California. We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to assist in the management of inpatient consults, as well as provide support in the outpatient clinic setting.
Position Details:
Shifts:
4 shifts per week, each 10 hours. One weekend per month.
Inpatient Consults:
Assist with the evaluation and management of inpatient neurosurgery consults. Assist with elective and emergent surgery.
Clinic:
APP provides care of post op and elective patients in the outpatient clinic.
Overtime:
Ample opportunity for additional hours and overtime.
Salary Range:
150,000 - 176,800

Qualifications:
Current certification as a Physician Assistant (NP/PA) with experience in neurosurgery or a related field preferred. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team. Strong communication skills and commitment to high-quality patient care. Physician Assistant license to practice in the state. CPR Certified. DEA registration with state. Responsibilities Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources. Provide physician assistant services to patients as directed by the physician's patient care plan and supervised by the physician Ensure completion of all required documentation of patient care activities in accordance with TPR policy. Fulfill all duties assigned by physician Reports to the attending physician of any injuries or adverse reactions during or after treatment Participates in patient review conferences and staffing Assists the physician as follows, but not limited to Utilization Review, Quality Assurance, Program Evaluation, Infection Control, Safety Committee activities Adhere to the established policies and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources Orders and interprets the results of laboratory tests as part of the physical examination and health management. Perform and oversee testing and other appropriate procedures. Conducts health teaching and counseling during the physical exam, as appropriate, enabling the client to make informed choices about health and treatment options.
