A Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in all areas and specialties of medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations. May serve as the primary healthcare provider, in consultation with a part-time physician, in communities with limited health care resources.

Job Description

Well-established Orthopedic Group seeks to add a full-time Physician Assistant to their team.
  • The position will include both the OR and the clinic.
  • The Physician Assistant will support a Sports Fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon that has a very busy general practice with a strong focus on shoulders and knees.
  • This position offers the opportunity to work with athletes at all levels.
  • Minimal or no weekends.
Responsibilities include:
providing first assist, running a clinic, reductions, patient evaluation and education, pre- and post-H&P's, injections (small joints and bursa), consultation and reviewing lab results in both a clinic and hospital setting. The doctor will train a new graduate with an orthopedic rotation. The location is in the beautiful Palm Springs, California area. This area is a MECCA for golf and tennis. There is great all year-round outdoor living along with a reasonable cost of living for the state of California. Base salary is open and depends on experience, overtime after a 40-hour work week and a production bonus. Additionally, there is an excellent benefits package.
Pay:
$145,000.00 - $195,000.00 per year
