POSITION SUMMARY
The Physician Assistant (PA) provides gender-affirming healthcare services under applicable California law and within the scope of practice established by the California Physician Assistant Board, organizational policies, and clinical protocols. The PA performs patient assessments, diagnoses illnesses, develops treatment plans, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, prescribes medications as authorized, and collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
~75%/25% split of OR and clinic responsibilities First assist in the operating room with various surgeons, performing gender affirming surgeries at an efficient, highvolume practice. Procedures include top surgeries, facial surgeries, bottom surgeries, and body contouring. Rotate weekly oncall requirements with the PA team, including phone coverage and occasional weekend rounding. Independently perform inoffice procedures such as hematoma/seroma aspirations, kenalog injections, and assist in minor inoffice procedures. Conduct pre/postop patient assessments and physical examinations involving gender affirming surgery specifically. Evaluate and assess patients for medical optimization prior to surgery. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, including but not limited to surgical complications and wound healing concerns. Rounding and managing inpatient care for overnight surgeries. Order and interpret tests. Prescribe medications and therapies. Provide compassionate patient education. Coordinate care and maintain complete documentation. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals and provide occasional cross coverage with the plastic surgery team. Exceptional bedside manner. Participate in quality improvement and compliance activities. Maintains regular and reliable attendance sufficient to meet the position's operational, patientservice, and team obligations, with or without reasonable accommodation. Complies with applicable laws, regulations, accreditation requirements, privacy and security standards, and organizational policies relevant to the position.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
Experience:
Demonstrated competency in clinical assessment and treatment.
Licensure:
Active unrestricted California PA License, NCCPA certification, BLS certification, DEA registration if required.
Knowledge/Skills:
Clinical judgment, EHR proficiency, communication and documentation skills.

Prior experience in primary care, specialty care, urgent care, or hospital settings
