Physician Assistant | Outpatient | 1+ Years Experience |
San Diego, CA Compensation:
$140,000-$150,000 per year + monthly census-based bonus Compensation includes a predictable base salary with additional earning potential based on clinic demand. Confidential Opportunity A well-established healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join its outpatient clinical team in San Diego. This is a confidential search . The organization provides multidisciplinary care to patients with complex medical, neurological, behavioral health, and injury-related conditions. This position is not intended for new graduates or providers who require extensive structured training. The Role The Physician Assistant will provide outpatient evaluation, treatment, and ongoing management for patients with conditions that may include: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) Mood and anxiety disorders Musculoskeletal injuries Chronic pain and functional impairment Trauma-related conditions Complex and co-occurring conditions The Physician Assistant will work collaboratively with physicians and other clinical specialists as part of an interdisciplinary, biopsychosocial model of care. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive outpatient evaluations and follow-up visits Diagnose and manage complex medical and injury-related conditions Develop individualized treatment plans Provide medication management when clinically appropriate Perform clinical risk assessments and make independent clinical decisions Collaborate with neurology, PM&R, psychology, pain management, and rehabilitation providers Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed Support functional recovery and long-term patient outcomes Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced Physician Assistant who: Has strong outpatient clinical experience Is comfortable managing medically complex patients Has experience with neurology, PM&R, rehabilitation, pain management, or injury-related populations Has workers' compensation experience preferred, but not required Is comfortable practicing with a high degree of clinical autonomy Enjoys working within a multidisciplinary team Values a biopsychosocial approach to patient care Is focused on patient outcomes and functional recovery Prefers an outpatient practice environment rather than a high-volume setting Qualifications Minimum 1-3 years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in an outpatient or complex-care setting Active, unrestricted California Physician Assistant license DEA registration Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills Ability to practice independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team Experience with workers' compensation, chronic pain, TBI, rehabilitation, or trauma-related care preferred Training will be provided on organization-specific clinical protocols and treatment approaches for chronic pain, PTSD, and brain injury populations.
