Position Type:
Contract / Locum Tenens (1.0 FTE) Job Overview A leading healthcare organization is seeking a dedicated and Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant to provide locum tenens coverage. This position addresses a temporary backlog of patients. The ideal candidate will manage inpatient rounding and clinic coverage for orthopedic patients, specifically focusing on total joint cases.
Please note:
This position is strictly clinical and does not include operating room (OR) coverage or call responsibilities.
Schedule & Coverage Dates Start Date:
ASAP (pending credentialing)
Duration:
Initial 3-month contract, with a strong expectation to extend up to 6 months

7:30 AM - 4:00
PM Clinic Only:
8:30 AM - 5:00
PM Holiday Requirement:
Must work the week of Thanksgiving Key Responsibilities Manage a daily census of 14-18 patients during inpatient rounding. See 19-21 patients per day during scheduled clinic blocks. Provide high-quality care to postoperative orthopedic patients. Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record system for all documentation. Coordinate closely with the orthopedic surgery team to ensure seamless patient transitions.

Credentialing Timeline:

Requirements & Qualifications Licensure:
Active and unrestricted California State Physician Assistant license
Certification:
Board Certified (NCCPA)
Life Support:
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
Vaccination:
Preferred (waivers will be considered on a case-by-case basis)
