Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations, and vital signs documentation. Perform dermatological procedures such as skin biopsies, excisions, dermabrasion, and injection administration (including Botulinum toxin treatment). Collaborate with dermatologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Manage electronic health records (EHR systems) efficiently, ensuring accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist in clinical research studies related to dermatology, including data collection, analysis, and reporting of findings. Educate patients on skin conditions, treatment options, skincare routines, and preventive measures. Participate in triage duties to prioritize patient care needs and coordinate follow-up appointments or referrals as necessary. Requirements Valid certification as a Physician Assistant (PA) with current state licensure. Proven experience in dermatology or related fields such as hospital medicine or urgent care settings. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with eClinicalWorks is a plus. Knowledge of CPT coding for dermatological procedures and ICD coding for diagnoses. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge related to skin and subcutaneous tissues, and physiology knowledge. Experience performing injections (including Botulinum toxin), suturing, dermabrasion, and other dermatological procedures. Critical care experience or hospital experience preferred; familiarity with acute pain management and infection control protocols is advantageous. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams under collaborative practice agreements. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their skin health. Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications in medical-surgical or emergency medicine are beneficial.
