The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality medical care to patients in a substance use disorder clinic. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals. The candidate will enjoy early morning hours and a part-time schedule. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive physical examinations to obtain detailed medical histories from patients with addiction history. Collaborate with medical director on appropriateness of each new admission into the program. Coordinate care with patients Primary Care Provider and other providers in regards to additional diagnoses and prescribed medications. Provide oversight and guidance to nurses as necessary. Ability to assist lab technician with difficult venipuncture. Meet with active patients, as needed, to discuss patient medical concerns and make referrals as appropriate. Review patient laboratory findings and provide recommendations or referrals as appropriate. Collaborate with physicians and other clinic staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Perform data collection and analysis to support patient care decisions. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Provide education to patients regarding their health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care strategies. Skills Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Colorado Experience working in addiction medicine is an advantage. Experience working in a medical office setting with an understanding of medical records management. Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high standard of patient care.
