Physician Assistant-Neurosurgery Uconn Health/Waterbury Hospital Waterbury, CT Job Details Full-time 23 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Neurosurgery assistance Neurosurgery Advanced practice provider Physician Assistant License Full Job Description Neurosurgical Physician Assistant Opportunity - Waterbury, CT UConn Health Community Network Medical Group is seeking an experienced Neurosurgical Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing team at Waterbury Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with a highly regarded neurosurgeon while providing advanced care across the full spectrum of neurosurgical services. The ideal candidate will have experience in both spine and cranial procedures and enjoy a diverse role including surgical first-assisting, inpatient management, and outpatient pre-operative evaluations.
Responsibilities Include:
First-assist in complex neurosurgical procedures, including cranial and spine cases Perform pre-operative patient evaluations, histories, physical exams, and surgical readiness assessments Manage inpatient rounding, care coordination, admissions, and discharge planning Order and review imaging, labs, and diagnostic studies Perform bedside procedures and support post-operative patient care Educate patients and families throughout the surgical journey
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of neurosurgical PA experience preferred Experience with cranial and spine surgery Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Current NCCPA certification Connecticut PA license (or eligibility)
BLS/ACLS
certification Eligible for DEA and controlled substance registration
