What they do
A Surgical Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in surgical operating rooms and surgery departments, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Provide pre-operative assessments, post-operative follow-ups, patient education, and routine post-discharge care in the outpatient setting Assist in inpatient consultations and support timely, coordinated discharges Participate in daily patient review rounds and contribute to weekly multidisciplinary tumor board and care huddles Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR Serve as a liaison between surgeons, referring physicians, inpatient teams, and outpatient specialty services Help optimize care pathways for patients undergoing complex surgeries involving hepatobiliary, colorectal, breast, and soft tissue malignanciesQualifications:
