Orthopaedic Physician Assistant

  • Southern Division is seeking a motivated and professional Physician Assistant to support a busy Upper Extremity orthopaedic practice specializing in shoulder, elbow, hand, and related surgical care.
This position is designed to function as a true extension of the surgeon within both the outpatient clinic and surgical setting. We are seeking a dedicated clinician who is passionate about patient care, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and values teamwork, professionalism, and clinical excellence. Position Overview The Orthopaedic Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive support to an Upper Extremity orthopaedic surgeon in both clinic and surgical environments. Responsibilities include patient evaluations, perioperative management, surgical assisting, documentation, care coordination, and participation in after-hours call coverage. This role requires an individual who can function independently while maintaining strong collaboration with the physician and care team. Responsibilities Assist physician in outpatient clinic and surgical procedures Perform patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations Develop and implement treatment plans under physician supervision Provide perioperative and postoperative patient care First assist in the operating room Interpret diagnostic studies and imaging On call for office and ER rotation
  • approximately 5 days per month Coordinate care with clinical staff, therapy providers, and referring physicians Complete timely and accurate EMR documentation Participate in after-hours office and emergency call rotation Deliver compassionate, patient-centered orthopaedic care Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program NCCPA certification required Active or eligible Delaware PA licensure Orthopaedic and/or surgical experience preferred Upper extremity experience is a plus New graduates with strong motivation and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to function in a fast-paced surgical and outpatient environment Professional demeanor with strong clinical judgment and teamwork skills What We're Looking For We are seeking a provider who: Functions as a true extender to the surgeon Demonstrates professionalism and accountability Is adaptable, dependable, and team-oriented Has strong patient interaction and communication skills Is committed to delivering exceptional orthopaedic care Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Comprehensive benefits package CME allowance and paid CME time PTO and paid holidays Retirement benefits Opportunity for long-term professional growth within a respected orthopaedic organization Apply Today Candidates interested in joining a collaborative and growing orthopaedic team are encouraged to apply.
