Responsibilities Conduct thorough physical examinations and skin assessments to evaluate dermatological conditions. Assist dermatologists with procedures such as excisions, dermabrasion, and injections including botulinum toxin treatments. Manage patient intake, vital signs, and medical histories while ensuring accurate documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Prescribe medications, administer injections, and provide patient education on skin care routines and treatment options following HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals across specialties to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans. Perform diagnostic evaluations including interpreting skin biopsies and other laboratory results; collect data for clinical research or quality improvement initiatives. Support telehealth consultations and outpatient visits while maintaining high standards of aseptic technique and infection control protocols. Qualifications Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification to practice in dermatology or related fields. Demonstrated experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for dermatological procedures. Proven ability to perform clinical procedures including suturing, injection administration, and physical examinations. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to dermatology. Experience working in outpatient clinics or hospital settings with exposure to acute care, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine preferred. Critical care experience or hospital experience involving triage, acute pain management, or ventilator management is advantageous. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on treatment plans and skin health maintenance.
