Are you an Orthopedic Spine PA-C or NP seeking a position in sunny Florida? Our established Orthopedic Clinic has two permanent positions available in Panama City, FL!! Schedule:
Mon-Fri (Surgical and clinical schedule determined with Surgeon) Position overview: The Orthopedic Spine PA-C works collaboratively with orthopedic spine surgeons to evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with spinal disorders in clinic, hospital, and operating room settings. The PA-C assists with surgical procedures, provides perioperative care, performs patient education, and helps coordinate treatment plans to optimize patient outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical histories and physical examinations. Assess patients with conditions such as cervical and lumbar radiculopathy, spinal stenosis, disc herniations, deformities, fractures, and degenerative spine disorders. Order and interpret diagnostic studies including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, laboratory tests, and electrodiagnostic studies. Develop and implement treatment plans under physician supervision. Prescribe medications and manage refills according to state regulations and practice protocols. Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and postoperative care. Coordinate referrals to physical therapy, pain management, imaging, and other specialists as needed.
Surgical Responsibilities:
Serve as first assist in spine surgeries, including cervical, thoracic, and lumbar procedures. Assist with patient positioning, exposure, retraction, wound closure, and intraoperative support. Participate in minimally invasive and complex spine procedures as directed by the surgeon. Assist with postoperative orders and surgical documentation. Inpatient and Postoperative Care Conduct hospital rounds and evaluate postoperative patients. Monitor recovery progress, pain control, wound healing, and potential complications. Coordinate discharge planning and follow-up care. Respond to patient calls and address clinical concerns.
Procedural Responsibilities:
Joint and trigger-point injections Wound care and suture removal Casting, splinting, and brace management Aspiration and injection procedures Minor office-based procedures related to orthopedic care
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. Current PA-C or NP certification through the NCCPA. Active FL license or eligible BLS and/or ACLS certification. Orthopedic or spine experience required
