A Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in all areas and specialties of medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations. May serve as the primary healthcare provider, in consultation with a part-time physician, in communities with limited health care resources.
Athens Orthopedic Clinic, the leader in Orthopedic Care in northeast Georgia, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our orthopedic team. This position will provide clinical support across multiple clinic locations, including Loganville, Madison, and Monroe, as well as hospital rounding, call coverage, and urgent care evening coverage. The ideal candidate is flexible, team-oriented, and experienced in orthopedic care or eager to learn in a fast-paced specialty environment. This position will cover Urgent Care and some alternating weekends are required.

Key Responsibilities Conduct patient evaluations, including medical histories and physical exams Diagnose and treat orthopedic conditions under physician supervision Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans Perform in-office procedures (e.g., injections, splinting, casting) Assist physicians in surgical settings as needed Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and post-care instructions Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the EMR Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and ancillary departments Travel between clinic locations as scheduled Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Current Physician Assistant license in the state of Georgia NCCPA certification required BLS (and/or ACLS) certification required Orthopedic experience preferred, but not required Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to travel between assigned clinic locations Work Environment & Schedule Combination of clinic, hospital rounding, urgent care evening coverage, and potential surgical assist responsibilities Participation in call rotation required Evening shifts required for urgent care coverage Schedule may vary based on clinic, hospital, and operational needs
