Job Description
Surgical Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant A surgical practice is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join its team supporting specialized surgical services. The role combines clinic care, OR support, postoperative management, and patient follow-up. Position Highlights Mix of clinic and OR responsibilities Typical day includes rounding on patients, going to clinic, seeing follow-ups, some new patients, and also having some OR days OR days are typically blocked for surgery First-call responsibilities; call schedule will be discussed further during the interview process Lots of wound care scenarios, discharge coordination, and discharge planning , with a strong inpatient team also available to help support these needs Opportunity for OR training for candidates with strong procedural or surgical clinic experience Qualifications NP or PA experience required Clinic experience working closely with surgeons and a strong understanding of preoperative and postoperative care required Acute Care NP certification is not required Surgical or procedural experience strongly preferred First-assist experience is a plus, but not required Strong understanding of what to monitor for before and after surgery Candidates with strong procedural clinic experience but limited OR experience are encouraged to apply
