Position Summary& Highlights:

This MA position will primarily support two very busy orthopedic physician and PA-C. Our highly skilled orthopedic surgeons and interdisciplinary clinical teams are regarded as among the finest in the region and many have received national acclaim for their quality care. Our clinics offer patients both surgical and non-surgical treatment options for their problems. Patients can feel confident they are in capable hands with board-certified Orthopedic Surgeons whose highest priority is excellence in patient care.

What You Will Do:

This MA position will support a high-volume clinic for an orthopedic surgeon and a PA-C and will be the primary point of contact for these providers. In addition to the typical MA duties, you will prep injections for minor procedures, complete chart prep, DME application, and suture removals. You will also assist with surgery scheduling, prior authorizations, and MRI authorizations. You will manage patient phone calls, other patient communications, and coordinate care needs and follow-up tasks. You will maintain clinic flow for these providers with minimal oversight and provide consistent support to ensure provider productivity and patient access. An ideal candidate is an experienced MA that has previously worked in an orthopedics or urgent care clinic or related specialty. You will be self-sufficient, have exceptional organization and multi-tasking skills, and have strong verbal and written communication skills. You will also be a team player who is willing to jump in on whatever is needed to be done.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent requiredat hire.

•MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) American Medical Technologists (RMA) National Healthcare Association (CCMA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA) National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA) American Medical Certification Association (CMAC) National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)

New Graduates:

1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a100-hour MA externship or6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hourseven with MA certification. Medical Assistant with

Experience:

1 Year of MA experience ORCurrent MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above. Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is requiredat hire.

•Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year.
