Job Description

Seeking a Locums Neurosurgeon to join a growing neurosurgical program in Carbondale, IL. This is a PRN (as-needed) opportunity with consistent full‑time-equivalent shifts available, providing high-quality surgical and clinical care to the community. Schedule & compensation PRN / as-needed scheduling $4,500 per shift Key responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical care Perform a broad range of neurosurgical procedures with precision and clinical excellence Manage perioperative care and postoperative follow-up Participate in assigned call coverage Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes Maintain current knowledge of neurosurgical best practices and standards Contribute to education of medical students and residents as needed Required qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school Completion of an accredited Neurosurgery residency Board certified in Neurosurgery Active Illinois medical license or ability to obtain one Demonstrated proficiency across a wide range of neurosurgical procedures Benefits / extras provided by the group Above‑market hourly/shift rate All travel arrangements arranged and booked by the group (in addition to shift pay) Malpractice insurance and tail coverage provided Dedicated locums consultant to manage credentialing and scheduling Location Carbondale, IL — university town with outdoor recreation, regional wineries, and cultural amenities; strong community atmosphere and good quality of life.
