Works in concert with an orthopedist, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations.

Job Description
A private orthopedic practice in the greater Chicago area is seeking a Physician Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent role. Monday-Friday schedule. No weekends and no call. This will be an OR float position covering total joints, sports, hand, foot & ankle, and spine cases. Occasional orthopedic urgent care coverage on a light OR day. Orthopedic surgery experience is required for this role.
Responsibilities:
First assisting in the OR Examine patients and their medical records Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays, etc.) Diagnose health conditions and illnesses Prescribe medications Maintain accurate records and schedules Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications Educate patients and their family membersQualifications:
Active or pending Illinois State License required 1+ years of orthopedic surgery experience is required Comfortable dislocating/reducing total hips and comfortably close total jointsBenefits:
