A private orthopedic practice in the greater Chicago area is seeking a Physician Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent role. Monday-Friday schedule. No weekends and no call. This will be an OR float position covering total joints, sports, hand, foot & ankle, and spine cases. Occasional orthopedic urgent care coverage on a light OR day. Orthopedic surgery experience is required for this role.

Responsibilities:

First assisting in the OR Examine patients and their medical records Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays, etc.) Diagnose health conditions and illnesses Prescribe medications Maintain accurate records and schedules Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications Educate patients and their family members

Qualifications:

Active or pending Illinois State License required 1+ years of orthopedic surgery experience is required Comfortable dislocating/reducing total hips and comfortably close total joints
