Weekday shifts scheduled between 6:00AM

Inpatient Role Job Description Exciting opportunity to join Endeavor Health Cardiovascular Institute
•Cardiovascular Surgery Team! Under the direction of the collaborating physician(s), provides care to patients. Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations, orders imaging, lab tests and diagnostic procedures and interprets results. Instructs patients on the prescribed therapeutic regimen and pre/post operative instructions. Assist Cardiac Surgeon in the operating room, providing 1st and 2nd assist support for a continuum of Cardiac Surgery Cases including but not limited to CABG, Valve replacement and LVAD implantation. Maintains records and writes progress notes on status, treatments and procedures. Follows patients through their course of treatment in the clinic and hospital setting. Collaborates with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate. Demonstrates evidence-based practice. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice in the specialty. Assesses the learning needs of patients and families across the continuum. Employs strategies, interventions and teaching to promote, maintain, and improve health. Provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis, and prescribe treatments under the protocol in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease. Promotes wellness and prevent illness and injury in various settings for individuals, families, and communities. Works autonomously and in interdisciplinary teams as resources and consultants. Positively contributes to safety outcomes and promoting high-quality patient experience. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of service line goals. Supports the strategic plan of the organization. Adheres to all Endeavor Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
License:
Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required.
Education:
Completion of Master's level program in specialty area required.
Certification:
BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications required
Experience:
Prior experience in cardiac surgery preferred, but motivated new graduates interested in the specialty welcomed to apply!
