Overview
JOB SPECIFICS
Providing high-quality patient care and a truly personalized, patient-centric experience aligned with each patient's preferences, goals, and needs Primarily inpatient neurosurgery care, including comprehensive neurological assessments, daily rounding, histories and physicals, new consults, admissions, and discharges Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with attending neurosurgeons Prepare patients for surgery, manage postoperative care, and support smooth care transitions across the continuum Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging, prescribe medications, and document all care provided Provide patient and family education to enhance understanding of diagnoses, treatment options, and long-term management plans Perform procedures alongside residents Exposure to a broad range of acute and complex neurological cases Collaborative work environment with neurosurgeons, residents, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams Three 12-hour shifts per week (5:45 AM - 6:15 PM), Rotating weekends and holidays as part of the schedule Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed to provide either advanced practice nursing services in the State of Illinois as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act OR physician assistant services as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987. Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.
BLS/ACLS
Certified. Neurosurgery experience preferred, new graduates will be considered Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hospital environment while maintaining patient-centered focus. Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs. Provider shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
