POSITION SUMMARY
Position Summary:
The Advance Practice Provider (APRN or PA-C) works in collaboration with physicians to assess the physical needs of patients in the Emergency Department. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Familiar with advanced concepts, practices and procedures and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in variety of illnesses presented. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The Advance Practice Provider functions as a consultant, facilitator, educator, change agent, program designer and resource person to a defined patient population and caregivers. Advanced clinical practice distinguishes this position, supported by knowledge and competence in the areas of research, leadership, consultation, education and professional growth. The Advance Practice Provider assumes a leadership role in strengthening collaborative relationships with physicians, healthcare leaders and nurses in various settings to improve patient/family outcomes along the care continuum.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education Master's degree from an accredited advanced registered nursing program, or Masters/ or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited physician assistant program Minimum Experience One year clinical experience preferred Required Registration/License/Certification Current Kansas Advanced Practice Registered Nurse APRN license, or current Kansas Physician Assistant (PA-C) license
