Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including hospital, emergency, outpatient, and specialty clinics. Your expertise will support diagnosis, treatment, and management of diverse medical conditions while collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your clinical skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to improving patient outcomes through comprehensive care and innovative practices. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic and Cerner. Assist in diagnostic evaluation by interpreting laboratory results, imaging studies, and diagnostic tests like radiology reports and cardiac catheterization data. Prescribe medications in accordance with HIPAA regulations, DEA guidelines, and collaborative practice agreements; administer injections including botulinum toxin treatments for therapeutic and cosmetic purposes. Perform procedures such as suturing, wound care, airway management, and aseptic techniques during clinical interventions. Manage acute pain cases and participate in critical care activities within ICU or Level I/II trauma center settings; handle ventilator management and neonatal ventilator support as needed. Coordinate patient care plans across multiple disciplines including infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and occupational health. Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like eClinicalWorks), ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards; collect data for clinical research or quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop treatment strategies, discharge planning, and follow-up care; participate in clinical trials or research projects to advance medical knowledge. Qualifications Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Demonstrated experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, urgent care, or critical care environments; Level I or II trauma center experience preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; strong understanding of
ICD-9/10
coding and CPT coding for billing purposes. Hands-on experience performing procedures including suturing, injection administration (including botulinum toxin), phlebotomy, and airway management techniques. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology; ability to interpret diagnostic tests such as radiology reports or cardiac catheterization data. Critical care experience including ICU or neonatal ventilator management; familiarity with infectious disease protocols and post-acute care processes. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on patient education and health coaching; ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Additional qualifications include telehealth experience, research involvement, hospital or nursing home experience, and familiarity with ICD coding standards.
