_PARAGRAPH JOB_DESCRIPTION.SHARE.HTML Midland, Michigan Nursing Support 7p-7a Regular Full-Time Night Shift Emergency Room 47750 Job Description Summary This position coordinates patient and chart activities and collects pertinent patient data. Assesses and enters proper charges for all care given in the Emergency Room into the computer. Performs miscellaneous related duties and other duties as assigned. Responsibilities (45%)- Greets and notifies nurse when patients arrive for treatment. Collects pertinent patient and demographic data and enters it into the computer. Obtains signature for authorization of Medicare, Medicaid, and all other payers. (30%)
- Orders tests from ancillary departments via multiple computer programs. Adds or deletes consulting physician names on chart. Sends properly labeled specimens to the lab, making sure patients are properly identified with ID bracelets for lab studies. Communicates orders by phone regarding patient. (25%)
- Records information in ER logbook.
