Position Summary:

Provides basic preparation of the patient for ophthalmic tests, evaluation, or treatment ensuring quality patient services.

Work Schedule:

Day shift, Monday-Friday.

Required Qualifications:

Certification through JCAHPO as an Ophthalmic Assistant is required within two years of hire date. 1)Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients. 2)Detail oriented individual with strong human relations and organizational skills. 3)Ongoing certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant.

Preferred Qualifications:

a) Satisfactory completion of an accredited home study course in Ophthalmic Assisting or b) Satisfactory completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program or c) Equivalent related experience.
