Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Trauma/General Surgery teams. This position will require flexibility on a day-to-day basis on filling in the needs of the Surgical and Trauma teams in the hospital and the clinic setting. There will be limited procedures and no OR time. In this role, you will: Help manage all aspects of trauma and post-operative patient care from admission to discharge for your assigned trauma team, as well as general inpatient care for teams that are busy Have a strong emphasis on post call duties
- tertiary exams, discharges, coordinating care Interface with all levels and disciplines of the healthcare team to increase the quality of patient care, patient education and streamline the discharge process Support our staff surgeons in the Surgery Clinic (one half day per week) Actively participate in quality improvement Why You'll Love Working at Hennepin Healthcare We strive to provide the highest quality, patient-centered care by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including attending physicians, other APPs, resident physicians, nurses, care coordinators, occupational therapies, physical therapists, and other supportive staff Ability to work with patients from diverse socioeconomic, gender, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds Schedule is Monday-Friday with one full weekend every 4-5 weeks in exchange for days off during the week.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications Masters degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program Current, or eligibility for, MN license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician AssistantBLS/ACLS
certification ATLS certification or obtained within two years- we will provide (audit or complete course) Preferred Qualifications Family Nurse Practitioner license is preferred for Nurse Practitioner applicants SALARY Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant pay is based on year of licensure and specialty area .
