Physician Assistant (PA-C) - ENT Midwest ENT Specialists is looking for a skilled and flexible Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) team. This position will be responsible for practicing medicine with physician supervision in both the clinic and hospital setting including surgery. Within the physician-physician assistant (PA-C) relationship, our PAs exercise autonomy in medical decision making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services in a clinic setting. This individual may practice in several areas including allergy, asthma, ENT, family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, surgical subspecialties, assisting in the operating room, hospital rounding and hospital based medicine. Additionally, occasional opportunities for patient education and administrative services may arise. This position is full-time.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Practices in clinic independently by treating patients (conducting physical exams, assesses health status, orders and interprets tests, prescribes medications, and treats illnesses including giving injections and suturing wounds). Consults with physicians as needed and refers to physicians for more complicated medical cases or cases that are not a routine part of a PA's scope of work. Monitors therapies and provides continuity of care. Triages patient calls and evaluates patient problems. Recognizes and responds to emergencies including use of CPR. Counsels patient/family on preventive health care. Documents patient information and care in medical record. Assists surgeon in the hospital room (surgery planning, check for proper instruments, assist with the procedure) Completes hospital rounding and call, as required by supervising physician and department operations. Participates in and engages professionally in department meetings, townhalls and Midwest events throughout the year. Other duties as assigned.Requirements:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and successful completion of accredited physician assistant program. Four years of health care experience prior to applying to PA program. Active certification from the National Commission on Certification of PAs. Active MN and WI PA licenses. Current CPR certificate.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in clinical and hospital settings. Specialized training or previous experience in ENT. One or more years of experience as aPA. MIDWEST ENT CULTURE
