Chief Executive Officer General Summary of Responsibilities:
Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Provide high quality primary care to the patients under direction of the supervising physician. Knowledge of professional medical practice and its standards of care to give and evaluate patient medical equipment, and instruments to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish safe work environment. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of medicine to provide on-going patient care. Skill in taking medical history, assessing medical condition and interpret findings. Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding correspondence. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situation. Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly. Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Administers medications and injections. Sutures minor lacerations. Prepares written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances. Instructs patient and family regarding medication and treatment. Provides patient education. Triage patient telephone calls and provides consultant. Provides monitoring and continuity of care between visits. Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations. Attends annual CPR, OSHA and CLIA training programs, as required Maintains patient confidentiality. Performs related work as required. Must participate on Town-Call rotation. May provide care at all hospital owned clinics as well as in main facility.
Education:
Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant Program or Graduate of Accredited School offering an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) required.
License/Certifications:
Fulfill the necessary requirements to secure approval o f State of Nebraska for a physician to supervise this specific Physician Assistant. Current certification, and licensure are required. ACLS, PALS and ATLS certification desired. Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse licensure in the state of Nebraska. Current certification, and licensure are required. ACLS, PALS and ATLS certification desired. All offers of employment are subject to a background check and drug screening.
