Job Overview Modern Psychiatry is a fast-growing mental health practice offering integrative psychiatry, psychotherapy, and psychological services both in-person and via telehealth, serving patients in New Jersey and across the United States. We are looking for a motivated and hardworking individual to join our new office in Toms River, NJ. We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Full-Time Psychiatric Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team. This role involves providing comprehensive mental health assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for diverse patient populations with complex psychiatric conditions. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, support clinical operations, and maintain a positive and professional environment. This position is supervised by our psychiatrists and offers an excellent opportunity to grow within a supportive and collaborative clinical setting. Schedule Full-time, Monday-Friday One Saturday per month is required Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in New Jersey At least 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in psychiatry or behavioral health Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and communication skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Comfortable working with diverse patient populations and complex psychiatric conditions Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative clinical team Strong commitment to ethical, professional, and high-quality patient care Responsibilities Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments utilizing advanced diagnostic evaluation techniques Develop accurate diagnoses and individualized treatment plans Provide ongoing medication management, including prescribing and monitoring psychiatric medications Collaborate closely with supervising psychiatrists and the clinical team Document all patient interactions accurately within EMR/EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance Provide telehealth consultations utilizing telemedicine platforms to extend mental health services remotely Participate in case consultations, supervision sessions, and team meetings Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff Skills Conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental status exams Diagnosing mental health conditions using DSM-5 criteria Developing and managing individualized treatment plans Medication management and psychopharmacology expertise Crisis intervention, suicide risk, and safety assessments Experience with diverse populations Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking abilities Effective communication and patient engagement skills Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems Collaborative approach with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities Cultural competence and sensitivity in patient care Strong organization and time-management skills High level of professionalism, empathy, and ethical practice
