A Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in all areas and specialties of medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations. May serve as the primary healthcare provider, in consultation with a part-time physician, in communities with limited health care resources.
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) for a hybrid position providing both primary care and acute care services. This role is ideal for an advanced practice provider who is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced clinical environment and providing comprehensive care to patients across the full lifespan, from newborns (1 day old) through older adults. The provider will assess, diagnose, treat, and manage a broad range of acute and primary care conditions while collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Schedule:
This position follows a rotating 4x10 schedule:
Monday-Thursday:
8:00 AM-7:00
PM Tuesday-Friday:
8:00 AM-7:00 PM Schedule rotates between the Monday-Thursday and Tuesday-Friday workweeks.
Weekend Requirement:
Two scheduled weekends per month
Saturday/Sunday Weekend Hours:
8:00 AM-2:00 PM Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive primary and acute care services to patients of all ages, from newborns through geriatric populations. Perform patient assessments, physical examinations, and health evaluations. Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, injuries, and common primary care conditions. Develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans. Order, perform, and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory testing. Prescribe medications and treatments within applicable scope of practice. Provide preventive care, health education, and wellness counseling. Identify patients requiring specialty or higher levels of care and coordinate appropriate referrals. Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation. Document patient encounters and care plans utilizing
EPIC EMR.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, clinical staff, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain compliance with all applicable clinical, regulatory, licensing, and organizational requirements. Required Qualifications Current and unrestricted Nevada Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) license. Current Federal DEA registration. Current Nevada controlled substance/narcotic license or registration, as applicable to the provider's scope of practice. Current BLS certification. Minimum of three years of clinical experience as an NP or PA-C in one or more of the following settings: Ambulatory Care Occupational Health Family Practice Emergency Department Must be comfortable and experienced providing care to patients of all ages, beginning at 1 day old.
