Overview Physician Assistant License Required, others need not apply. Join our dynamic healthcare team as a PA Surgical Burn Uni (cant hire RNP), where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care in a specialized surgical environment. You will report to the Medical Director This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced healthcare professionals in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting. You will be integral to managing patient assessments, supporting surgical procedures workinmg side by side with Medical Director, and ensuring optimal recovery outcomes for burn and trauma patients. Your expertise will contribute to innovative treatment plans, clinical research initiatives, and comprehensive patient management within a Level II Trauma Center. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform treatment plans. Assist with surgical procedures Manage acute pain through medication administration, pain management strategies, and monitoring patient responses to therapies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, nurses, physical therapists, and specialists in infectious disease care and palliative medicine to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Utilize electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner) for accurate documentation of medical records, diagnostic test results, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and CPT coding for procedures. Experience Prior hospital experience in surgical or critical care settings, preferably within a Level I or Level II Trauma Center or ICU environment. Willing to train right person Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner; telehealth experience is a plus. Strong background in acute care procedures including triage, diagnostic evaluation, and emergency response protocols. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology related to burn injuries and trauma management. Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, drug enforcement regulations (DEA), and infection control practices. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients about their treatment plans and recovery processes. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required; additional certifications such as PICU experience or occupational health are beneficial.
