The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive clinical expertise in vascular medicine, including advanced patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and procedural support. This role offers an opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional vascular patient care, utilizing cutting-edge technology and evidence-based practices. The Vascular Physician Assistant will play a vital role in managing patients in a clinic setting and in the OR. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews specific to vascular conditions. Assist physicians during diagnostic procedures such as vascular ultrasound, catheterizations, and other minimally invasive interventions. Administer injections, including Botulinum toxin treatments for vascular-related conditions, following strict aseptic techniques and regulatory guidelines. Manage acute pain and critical care scenarios related to vascular emergencies within hospital settings. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical research protocols. Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) such as Epic or Cerner while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support triage efforts by evaluating urgent vascular cases in outpatient or inpatient settings, prioritizing care needs efficiently. Participate in data collection for clinical trials and research projects aimed at advancing vascular medicine practices. Educate patients on diagnosis, treatment options, medication administration, and post-procedure care to promote understanding and adherence. Requirements Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) with current licensure in the practicing state. Demonstrated experience in vascular medicine or related fields such as critical care, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine. Proficiency with EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks for documentation and data management. Athena experience a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy relevant to vascular structures, and diagnostic test interpretation including Doppler ultrasound results. Experience administering injections such as Botulinum toxin treatments and managing medications per DEA regulations. Familiarity with CPT coding for procedures and ICD-10 coding for diagnoses is preferred. Strong clinical skills in physical examinations, vital signs assessment, aseptic techniques, and patient client communication. Ability to work effectively within collaborative practice agreements alongside physicians and other healthcare professionals. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
