A Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in all areas and specialties of medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations. May serve as the primary healthcare provider, in consultation with a part-time physician, in communities with limited health care resources.

Job Description

AFC Urgent Care Long Island is looking for an experienced PA to join our team. Our goal is to provide high quality care of all patients and assist in directing staff in the support of the care of our patients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide high quality patient care. Manage all patient care while on shift. Supervise all staff while on shift. Ensure all charts are filled out and medical records are completed in a timely fashion. Process biological specimens when needed. Education and Experience Urgent Care experience Board Certified/Board Eligible (NCCPA) Excellent communicator with staff, patients, and family. Professional appearance and attitude Active and current medical license in state of New York Active and current DEA number and state controlled substance certificate, as needed. Ability to multi-task and work independently
