• Responsibilities
• + First assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures + Participate in perioperative patient management + Conduct inpatient rounding and follow-up care + Perform patient assessments and examinations + Complete documentation and care coordination activities + Work closely with surgeons, nursing staff, and ancillary departments + Participate in scheduled call coverage
• Requirements
• + Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program + NCCPA certification + Active state PA license (or ability to obtain) + BLS and ACLS certifications + Recent cardiothoracic surgery experience + Experience in cardiac surgery procedures + Strong communication and documentation skills
• Preferred Experience
• + Surgical first assist experience + Inpatient cardiothoracic patient management + Experience with major EMR systems
