09/05/2026 Job Description Job Description We are seeking a skilled, dedicated, and collaborative Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing orthopedic team. In this dynamic role, you will work closely with our board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon and our other providers to deliver exceptional patient care across the full continuum of treatment-from initial clinic evaluations and conservative management to first-assisting in the Operating Room and directing post-operative recovery.Key Responsibilities:
Operating Room (OR) First-assist in orthopedic surgical procedures (including total joint arthroplasty, sports medicine, trauma, and arthroscopy). Perform surgical closures, deep and superficial tissue suturing, dressing applications, and post-op splinting/immobilization. Participate in pre-operative patient preparation, surgical positioning, and post-op handoff reporting. Clinic & Outpatient Care Conduct comprehensive orthopedic evaluations, physical exams, and health histories for new and returning patients. Diagnose conditions, order and interpret diagnostic imaging (X-rays, MRIs, CT scans), and formulate evidence-based treatment plans. Perform office-based procedures, including therapeutic/diagnostic joint injections, aspirations, closed fracture reductions, and casting/splinting. Manage pre-operative workups, patient clearances, and comprehensive post-operative follow-up visits. Patient Care & Administration Provide empathetic patient education regarding surgical procedures, non-operative management options, and rehabilitation protocols. Complete accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Coordinate care with physical therapists, primary care providers, and hospital staff. Participate in shared call rotation and rounding on in-patient post-operative patients Collegiate and high school athletic game coverageQualifications & Experience:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (Master's degree preferred).Licensure:
Active (or eligible for) PA license in New York and current NCCPA certification.Certifications:
Current BLS and ACLS certifications; active DEA registration (or eligible).Experience:
Prior clinical/OR experience in Orthopedics or Surgical Specialties preferred. (New graduates with strong orthopedic clinical rotations are encouraged to apply!)Skills:
Proficient in surgical first-assisting, joint injections, fracture care, and advanced EHR workflows.Compensation & Benefits:
